you should be watching

okay.
I was up late-surprise, surprise-asking that same old, stupid question..."what should I watch?"
I'm a "go to sleep movie" enthusiast, as well as an aspiring actress in my own right SO I watch a ton of movies....so many that it is a struggle to find things I haven't seen when night time rolls around.

I texted Sloan tonight-"but what should I watchhhhhhh"-she replied with a couple of solid rom coms. Long story short we decided tonight was a night for something silly, romantic, cheesy, happy, and feel good. Now normally a perfect movie in my mind sounds more like....something dark, hopeless, depressing, down on your luck for two hours characters, quirky, and rain must be involved. I couldn't believe I clicked on "Endless Love".... I was downright shocked when I then LOVED IT.

It is honestly one of the best, over dramatic, we are 18 and gorgeous, romantic movies I have seen since Summer Catch and The Notebook. We all know I don't just throw around a comparison to The Notebook.

This movie had a beautiful couple with actual chemistry, her hair is amazing, an incredible soundtrack, set in Rhode Island at a mansion, perfect summer clothes that looked like a free people campaign, and a crazy house fire.

SO BASICALLY
you should watch it.

real talk.

This is a space made simply for pleasure, a space for me. A space, where I talk to those who are far away. It is not a place for stress.
This has been a crazy week for me!
I flew in on a Monday, was jet lagged on a Tuesday, ran errands on a Wednesday, and went out on a Thursday...here we are on  Friday favorites...and I feel rushed.
I want this blog to be good, ya know? Honest. Authentic. Genuine.
Not thrown together to meet deadlines-this is just a silly place for me. SO I am not doing a favorite list this Friday because it would be stupid. I will be back on track this coming week dear reader! Please don't give up on me! I have so many stories to tell you! Likeeee the cab driver tonight who talked to me about life, the amazing concert I saw, the people I met at said concert, the phone calls experienced this week...interested?

so for tonight...Just two genuine favorites pal

1) all white manicure! they look beautiful if I do say so myself

2) taking off my make-up and putting on pajamas and climbing underneath clean sheets-IT'S BED TIME GIRL.
cheers to the weekend xo

12:55 a.m.

Hello late night crowd!

I'm pretty tired, but not sleepy...know what I mean? My brain kind of buzzes and every thought I pushed out in the light of day, comes to the surface in one giant wave.  It doesn't help that my room is warm right now-my fans are struggling to beat the humidity accumulated while I was away at work. It's too noisy on the street to sleep with the windows open, so I'm kicking off all blankets and piling my hair on the top of my head.
I'm tired but not sleepy, and thinking about all the stuff happening here far away from my sweet Mississippi.

New York is still surreal sometimes-I tried on wedding dresses yesterday at work for fun and today I saw quite a few celebrities. I broke my first pair of shoes from all the walking- a true "I live here" moment for me. I saw the cutest, friendliest dog I've ever seen (except for my own) at a coffee shop that makes the best cupcakes I've ever eaten. Someone on a whim read my tarot cards today-a first for me, and I got a pretty perfect set of cards. The weather today was really really perfect, and all over Brooklyn you could hear people celebrating USA's dramatic win. At the risk of sounding cliche-Days here are either so so high or desperately low-I've never been anywhere else quite like it.

There's been a video of Shonda Rhime's commencement going around the internet-it's great, especially if you like "grey's anatomy"-sounds a lotttt like an izzie steven's speech. My biggest take away was she said "be a doer not a dreamer". I am realizing the importance of those words each day I attempt to find my dream here. So, that's my plan this week...DO. When in doubt keep doing.

And since it's time for bed I'll leave you with a song.
goodnight xo
