let it be, let it be! let it be, let it be-whisper words of wisdom let it bee eee

and the rain came down

on this stormy day... I've been thinking about the importance of letting things go
just letting it all fall and trusting that it will be okay
very very very unlike typical me
this year has been full of surprises and I'm just going to keep going along with it

my Memorial day

I drove my car today!!!!
how did I leave it????

I cranked up the radio: guitar pickin man /somebody I used to know (Esmith)/I've got your number son  and opened the sunroof (because it was 81 degrees :) here) and drove to meet Jessica and Jeffrey for lunch at our favorite Mexican place in M town: Frida's! They are friends of mine from school-two good married people I tell ya. After lunch, I got a tour of their new adorable home, and Jeffrey showed me this awesome band-big black delta. Their videos and songs are too fun.

Jessica was being all domestic cause she is wifed up
what a doll

I spent the evening with my aunt and cousins shopping. Well... more like we were on the never ending quest to find Molly a dress to wear to a wedding later this week. Spoiler alert: we found one and it's beautiful. It got a little crazy, and by a little I mean a lot.

At the end of a great day one at home I'm snuggled up with my baby Squeaks.
yeah, animals do come up a lot on this blog... but they do in my life too so deal with it-
LOOK HOW CUTE SHE IS

goodnight-

touched down in the land of the delta blues

note: I actually (along with most Memphians) hate that song, but it was impossible not to use for my title

I'm home!!!! (a much better song)

It's my first visit in three months you guys-let me tell you I am EXCITED. For starters, I'll be driving my car everywhere, and eating a ton of mexican food with all my pals :) I also got to hug my family and all the fur babies tonight!

This is one of them:
Peter Pan, but you can call him Petey.
Yes, I know exactly how adorable and amazing he is.

I'm incredibly thankful for this time of adventure in my life, but I'm washed in a wonderful feeling as I climb into my old bed and talk with my family face to face. It's refreshing to be around people who know me, and to hear southern accents (stronger than mine casting directors/people of New York!) all around me.

"you can have roots and wings"-a line from Sweet Home Alabama- which is I might add one of the greatest rom coms of our time.

Dear reader, I hope you have a fantastic Monday! xo

Friday I love you

You should be reading "One More Thing" because it says stuff like this:

“Fate to me, simply means that all the billions of microscopic actions we can’t calculate lead to consequences that feel right, because they are right. They fit, they follow. We can’t see and understand all the causes behind everything, but I think it’s more magical to accept that they’re there than it is to believe that they’re not, and that something called ‘fate’ is filling all that space instead.”

it's good huh?

sometimes I don't know how I made it to Friday.  sometimes I never know how I'm going to do it all over on Monday. sometimes I remember that life is actually yours to carve out and it can be so so wonderful.-for instance, tonight and tomorrow I fall asleep in Brooklyn and next week I'll be in Memphis! how about that?

Happy Weekending Pals

"sleep will not come because sleep does not will it"

confession time...I am an awful sleeper. I think it's best if I share some of my professional "I can't sleep" tips for having a good night! Also, I've included a soundtrack for us all.
"if you can't sleep"

To begin: DO NOT FREAK OUT.
 "I'm so tired"
for some stupid reason since the very beginning of time, we humans assume not sleeping means our brain is on fire. Whatever is bothering you that day must somehow amplify at night..SO.. I say to you- DO NOT FREAK OUT. It honestly will look better in the morning.  It will!

Second: Okay, this one is a little controversial...Be productive. Yep, I said it.
 tossing and turning
If I'm already wide awake why just lay there feeling weird? Do something until you feel sleepy. I suggest cleaning your room, pinterest, make some scrambled eggs with salsa, watch a movie, watch the interviews on how that movie came to be, online shop (DANGEROUS), plan out a surprise present in the mail for a pal, listen to a record, write, read, read, read, or if all else fails call your friend that never sleeps either and laugh because everyone is delusional at 2 a.m. and this conversation is hilarious.

I leave you with this: think up names that are in the bible in alphabetical order. My grandmother gave me this gem because she knows counting sheep is lame. This game is HARD because everyone in the bible has got a funky name.
p.s. you won't make it to Z it gets boring
"go to sleep"

gal pals

so I frequent this Panera... every time I go they are playing folk music (the good kind)
and it is 80% girls and 50% girls eating  alone.
not sure why.
I went tonight after my class. It was deserted considering I was eating my dinner at 9 p.m.
-I am who I am-
Anyways, three girls about my age, at a table two up from me were in intense conversation.
As the night went on,  their conversation grew louder. Why filter if no one is really around I guess?
Long story short...we all ended up at the same table.
One girl came to the city to act and she was frustrated over a lot of different things...a lot of things I can get frustrated over as well. It's amazing how having never met someone, you can then understand one another completely. It was good to have a quick chat with three best friends on a night I was missing my own best friends.
I guess this is alllllll reallllyyyy cheesy, but the truth remains we all have our stories.
We all go through similar things. It's just a matter of being open enough to see that.
and now I give you a picture of Beyonce and her friends...because duh.

treat yo self and get yo nails did

I love a good manicure!
(never said this blog would be deep)
My nails are on display at work, so it's important I attempt keeping them clean and pretty.
ALSO, it is such a brain numbing activity that I love going. As my acting teacher once said, "um Chelsea...you have a busy mind..." It is one of the few places I don't have a to do list running through my head.

Today I went here: http://www.primpandpolish.com/ aka the BEST nail salon ever.
They have a million colors (for gel!), good girl music, nail art, and also huge windows-what is better than people watching in New York??

sidenote, this is happening

he has a real problem with not being the center of attention.
